Spiced Cranberry Sauce

This is one of our favorite versions of cranberry sauce. Served at our Thanksgiving table every year! ~cranberry sauce

  • 8oz fresh Organic Cranberries;
  • 1/3cup honey(raw is best);
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Organic Brown Sugar(the less sugar the tarter the sauce);
  • 1-2 3inch sticks of cinnamon or 3/4-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon;
  • 4 whole cloves; pinch of nutmeg to taste;
  • 1/2cup water(could substitute orange juice) -

In a saucepan, combine the cranberries, honey, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, and the water. Simmer the mixture, covered, stirring occasionally for 5-10 minutes or until the cranberries have burst and the mixture has thickened. Transfer the sauce to a bowl and let cool. This sauce can be made up to two day in advanced and stored in the fridge. Serve at room temperature.
